Terms of Sale and Licence
Last updated: 1 November 2026
These terms cover buying and using Windowsify and File Explorer for Mac (the “Software”) and using this website. By buying, installing or using the Software you agree to them. They are between you and [SELLER LEGAL NAME], [SELLER POSTAL ADDRESS] (“we”, “us”).
1. Your licence
When you pay, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software you bought on the number of Macs shown on your order: one Mac, or two with the Two Macs option. The Software needs a licence key to run, and the internet to activate it. To move a licence to a new Mac, use Deactivate this Mac in the Software’s settings, or contact us if you no longer have the old Mac.
The Software is licensed, not sold. You may not resell, share or redistribute it, remove its notices, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows you to.
2. System requirements
The Software needs a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Please check this before you buy.
3. Price and payment
Prices are one-time payments, shown in US dollars. There is no subscription. Orders are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller of record, takes payment, works out any sales tax or VAT and issues your receipt. Its own terms also apply to the checkout.
4. Refunds
If the Software isn’t right for you, email [CONTACT EMAIL] within [14] days of buying for a full refund, with no need to give a reason. Please remove the Software from your Mac afterwards.
This doesn’t limit any right to a refund, repair or replacement you have under the consumer law where you live, including if the Software is faulty.
5. Updates
Your purchase includes every update we release for the Software you bought, at no extra charge. We intend to keep the Software working with new versions of macOS, but we can’t promise that every feature will work on every future version, or that we’ll keep releasing updates forever. New products aren’t included.
6. What the Software does to your Mac
To work, the Software asks for macOS permissions such as Accessibility, Input Monitoring and Screen Recording, and Windowsify changes some Mac settings while it runs, including keyboard, pointer, Dock and Finder settings.
- Quitting Windowsify puts back the keys, ⌘Tab, the pointer and the Finder and Dock settings it changed.
- A few things you set on purpose stay until you change them or use the Uninstall button: Animations & effects, display Scale, apps it took over from, Launch at login and saved clipboard history.
- If Windowsify crashes or is force-quit, some changes can stay until you open it again and quit it.
- Windowsify relies on some macOS features that Apple doesn’t publicly document. A macOS update could stop a feature from working.
File Explorer can move, rename and delete your files when you tell it to. Please keep backups of anything important.
7. Third-party software and names
The Software includes open-source components, whose licence notices ship inside the app. Those licences apply to those components.
Windowsify and File Explorer for Mac are independent products. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Microsoft Corporation or Apple Inc. Windows and Microsoft are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation; Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. Other names belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility or comparison.
Our switcher’s guide links to other companies’ apps and websites. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for them. Using them is between you and those companies.
8. Warranty
We provide the Software with reasonable care and skill, and it should work substantially as described on this website. Apart from that, and to the extent the law allows, it is provided “as is”, without other warranties, and we don’t promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
9. Limit on liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything relating to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data or profits.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, the mandatory rights you have where you live aren’t affected.
10. Ending the licence
You can stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling it. Your licence ends if you seriously break these terms or receive a refund. Your key then stops working, and you must remove the Software.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and will change the date above when we do. The terms you accepted when you bought keep applying to that purchase unless you agree to new ones or the law requires otherwise.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [COUNTRY / STATE], and its courts handle any dispute. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and may bring a claim in its courts.
